I’ve always felt that if you want something bad enough, you can make it happen. In order to want something badly, you need to be inspired. Everyone’s inspirational places are different; but for me, when I step into a fabric store I’m like a kid in a candy store. The colours, the textures, the way the chaos of all the patterns somehow comes together with the repetitive shape of the roll ends…somehow a fabric store is comforting and nostalgic yet brimming with excited thoughts of endless projects that keeps you on your toes and warm to your core at the same time.
Like children in a candy store, my mind reels with possibilities but instead of thinking “candy, candy, candy”… I’m thinking “colour, colour, colour”.
The vibrant lace above is by far my favorite shot (with some of my favorite colours) from the inner reaches of one of Victoria’s fabric shops… Gala Fabrics.
